Appliance Garages
One of the handiest ways to store appliances on the counter is in an appliance garage. A garage on the counter you might ask?? The reason these types of storage units are called garages is because of the door mechanism. They are often situated in corners of counters to make good use of space, and the door is usually roll-top style – just like the garage that holds your car. They offer a good solution for kitchen countertop appliance storage.
There is often nothing unusual or special about the inside of the storage space. It is a large empty space meant to hold your small appliances such as toasters, blenders, mixers, etc. with easy access for when you need them. Small appliances are generally awkwardly shaped. The large space allows you to place them next to each other without overcrowding.
Match to your existing cabinets
Try to buy an appliance garage that closely matches your existing cabinetry. Many come unfinished to allow for staining to match. The unit will look like an extension of your cabinets. There are corner or straight units. Which kind you choose really depends on your kitchen setup and your preference. Corner units generally have more space than straight appliance garages because of the deepness of corners.
Relatively Low Cost
Appliance garages are surprisingly affordable. For the amount of convenience they offer, investing in the storage can be a worthwhile investment.
